The BCS Internet Specialist Group presents "Internet regulation: the UK landscape"

The Open Rights Group's ( http://www.openrightsgroup.org) Becky Hogge hosts a talk and discussion on how legislation is affecting the Internet in Britain.

This event is open to both members of the BCS and non-members and we encourage anyone with an interest to come.

Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be provided. There will also be some light snacks. If you have any special dietary requirements please let us know and we'll do our best to provide something for your needs.

Doors open at 6pm and we will start at 6.30pm. Entry to the venue will be available until 7pm.

After the event some of us will be going for a few drinks nearby so please feel free to join us.

Becky Hogge is a UK-based music and technology writer and the executive director of the Open Rights Group. She was previously the managing editor, and then the technology director and technology commissioning editor for openDemocracy. During her time with openDemocracy she established the China environment website http://www.chinadialogue.net, along with editor Isabel Hilton.

As a writer and commentator, she covers the global politics of technology, open source, and intellectual property rights. She writes a weekly technology column for the New Statesman and openDemocracy and has also written for The Guardian, Index on Censorship, Dazed & Confused and The Face.

Becky Hogge is a graduate of Kings College, Cambridge where she studied linguistics and acquired a devotion to predicate calculus while she studied French and Russian.
