Colloquium: Ubiquitous Wireless Communications
The mobile technologies of today or indeed the more comprehensive ‘Wireless
revolution’ is bringing both a seamless and a ubiquitous
connection to every communication service, facility and customer. The
influence and intimacy of such a capability will change people’s
behaviour and how they interact with the world of business or entertainment.
Such capabilities are becoming more pervasive due to the wide
range of wireless technologies available on hand-held devices
(phones, TV, PDAs, laptops, games machines etc), and the various
fixed and mobile network systems which support such wireless communications
both now and in the future .
The event will feature:
- A keynote address from Dr Philip Stenton, Hewlett Packard,
a renowned researcher in the future of Ubiquitous Wireless services.
- A review of the challenges for the potential success of 3G
vis-a-vis the GSM success story
- How can seamless mobility be engineered?
- Will the user finally drive the technological evolution?
Who should attend?
This is a key event for all those interested in the future challenges
and benefits of ubiquitous wireless communications. This will be
a unique opportunity to hear from several respected technology
and sociology experts and thought-leaders on a very hot topic in
telecommunications today. Like all events organised by The Communications
Network, this half-day event offers you an opportunity to gain
invaluable knowledge and to network with your peers.
